Mark Hilley – Lead Trainer
Mark Hilley is our lead trainer and is based in Cornwall. A graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University (BA Hons in Social Science), Mark moved from Glasgow to Cornwall in 1995 and joined a rapidly expanding charity providing services for autistic people. Gaining rapid promotions and senior management qualifications, he accumulated a wealth of practical managerial, personnel and training experience in residential service settings, supporting a wide variety of individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities in the process of his development. In 2010 Mark spent a year studying for a post-graduate degree in education and taught A-Level sociology in further education. He also attained a TEFL teaching qualification as part of an aim to optimise his flexibility as a teacher and trainer. Over that span of time, Mark has also continued to maintain his practice by working across supported living and mental health services in the county. He has also enriched his insights further since 2014 through his experiences of fostering children. He has over 20 years’ experience of training the PBMpro package, in the UK and abroad, and is experienced in delivering a range of other training packages including, Autism Awareness, Active Support, Values Base and PBS.
Senior Trainers
We have senior trainers across the country who deliver PBMpro and PBS training for us. Many of these trainers hold managerial posts within their primary employment and all have a vast wealth of practical experience in services and in delivering the training – both for Positive Response and within their primary employment. This means that, for example, when delegates raise particular issues or queries, we are able to respond to these using real experiences from our own work and fully appreciate the policies, legal framework, and resource constraints that services work under. This is a strength that is often commented upon when we receive feedback on our training.
